Projector captions

Captions on the big screen and the livestream.

Every Voclyn room has a screen link that puts translated captions on the projector, in up to three languages. The same link makes a lower third in ProPresenter and captions on your livestream in OBS.

It comes with the Chapel, Church and Campus plans, and with the free month.

Press play and watch the screen.

A sample service with English, Cantonese and Mandarin speakers. The big screen shows the words as they’re heard, with the translation under them, and every phone follows in its own language.

On the projector

Open your room’s screen link on the computer connected to the projector or TV, and press F for full screen. Before the service it shows your church’s name, a large QR code and “Scan for your language” in each of the room’s languages, so people can open the captions on their phones as they arrive.

Once the service is live, each sentence appears when it is finished, in up to three languages, one band each. Every band is labelled with its language’s own name and says whether it shows the original or an AI translation. A sentence appears in every band together and stays up long enough to read, and a small QR code waits in the corner for latecomers.

English · Original

God’s love is for every person in this room.

Español · Traducción con IA

El amor de Dios es para cada persona en esta sala.

That is what an English-speaking church with Spanish-speaking families might show: English as it is preached, and Spanish beneath it. They choose both in their room’s Big screen settings.

Over your slides in ProPresenter

Choose “Under your slides” in the room’s Big screen tab, with a transparent background, and show the link in a ProPresenter web object that covers the whole slide. The captions sit in the lower third over your sermon slides, in one or two languages, and before the service the same object shows your QR code. ProPresenter, step by step.

On the livestream with OBS

In OBS, add a Browser Source with the same kind of link, sized to your canvas, and stream to YouTube or Facebook as usual. The captions become part of the picture: everyone watching sees them, and a recording of the stream keeps them. OBS, step by step.

People watching at home who need another language can open your church’s link on their own phone and choose their own language.

Through the service, by itself

  • Worship. When the sound desk marks worship, the captions step aside for a quiet “Worship” board with your QR code. Songs aren’t translated.
  • A pause or a private moment. The screen says “Translation paused” in its languages until the desk resumes.
  • A Bible reading. When the pastor names a passage and reads it, the English, Spanish, Korean, Cantonese and Mandarin bands show it from a published Bible, cited with its version and marked “Published text”. Your church sets the Bible for each language in Rooms › Languages: Berean Standard Bible or King James Version in English, Reina-Valera 1909 in Spanish, 개역한글판 in Korean, and 和合本(神版) or 和合本(上帝版) in Chinese, the first named being the default. Other languages get the reading translated and labelled AI. About Scripture lock.
  • A dropped connection. The last lines stay up, a small “Reconnecting…” appears, and the screen catches up by itself.
  • A fast speaker. The screen never falls more than about four seconds behind: if sentences come faster than they can be read, it skips ahead to what is being said.
  • The end. “Thank you for worshipping with us” and your church’s name. Next Sunday the screen starts clean, even if the projector was never switched off.

Which plans include it

The big screen comes with Chapel, Church and Campus, from $69 / C$99 a month, and with the free month (30 days of the Church plan free, no card). On Free, the screen link shows a short notice instead of captions: “Big screen captions come with the paid plans.” Phones work on every plan, with no cap on listeners. See the plans.

Questions

What churches ask.

Something else on your mind? Write to us at hello@voclyn.com.

Yes. In your room's Big screen tab, choose Spanish alone, or English and Spanish together. Each finished sentence appears in Spanish, labelled as AI translation.

Words that change while you read them are hard to follow from the pews, so the screen waits for each sentence and shows it whole. Phones show the words as they are spoken, and each translated sentence follows.

No. Any computer with a browser can show the screen link on a projector or TV; press F for full screen. ProPresenter and OBS are for putting the captions over your slides or on a livestream.

Up to three on a full screen, and one or two in a lower third. Each phone chooses its own.

No. It comes with Chapel, Church and Campus, and with the free month. On Free, the screen link shows a short notice instead of captions.

Yes. The Big screen tab sets the plain link; a second link with its own languages, such as ?langs=es, can be open at the same time.

Try it this Sunday.

Set up your church in a minute and hear it live with your own voice. Your QR code keeps working after the free month.

Your first month is on us: the Church plan, normally $99 a month, with unlimited listeners, translation hours and AI voiceover. No card; then choose a plan, or stay on Free.
