How the prices work

Glossa counts translation hours per language: an hour streamed into three languages uses three, its own example. Pay as you go is $5 an hour per language, so that hour into three languages costs $15. Standard is $99 a month for 25 translation hours, about eight hours of speaking into three languages, and each extra hour is $4. Glossa doesn’t count silence, songs or music.

Voclyn’s paid plans don’t count captions by the hour or the language: Free, then $69, $99 or $249 a month (C$99, C$139, C$349), with unlimited translation hours under fair use. The AI voice isn’t counted either: paid plans include it in each of your languages it speaks. See the plans.

What Voclyn does differently

  • One price, however many languages. On paid plans, a service captioned in six languages costs the same as one in two (fair use).
  • Cantonese at the front. A pastor can preach in Cantonese: Voclyn gives it its own speech engine and writes Hong Kong Traditional characters, and Mandarin readers choose Simplified or Traditional. About Cantonese.
  • Switch languages mid-sentence. Voclyn detects the language being spoken by itself, so a pastor can tell a story in Korean and make the point in English without anyone touching a setting. How switching works.
  • Bible readings from the Bible. When the pastor names a passage and reads it, English, Spanish, Korean, Cantonese and Mandarin readers see it from the published Bible their church chose (the BSB or KJV, the Reina-Valera 1909, 개역한글, and 和合本 in its 神 or 上帝 edition), marked “Published text · not AI”, on phones and the big screen, and the voice reads the verse. Other languages get the reading translated and labelled AI. About Scripture lock.
  • Your church’s words. Glossa takes your names and words too. Voclyn’s glossary teaches both the speech engine and the translator your pastors’ names and your church’s words. Your church chooses 神 or 上帝, 하나님 or 하느님, culto or Misa, starting from a pack for its tradition, and a fix in Monday’s transcript is used from the next service. About the glossary.
  • Each voice apart. In rooms without Cantonese, Voclyn tells voices apart and gives each speaker’s sentences their own colour rail on the phones, so readers can tell the pastor from an interpreter or a reader.

Where Glossa does better

  • Phone support at any hour on Advanced and Premium, and email at any hour on every plan. Voclyn answers by email, with a person on Sunday mornings from 7:00 to 13:00 Vancouver time.
  • Streams and connections. RTMP to your website, YouTube or Facebook, an API and webhooks, vMix, and apps for iOS and Android.
  • A report after every service: how long you streamed, how many people listened, in which languages, and what it cost.
  • Occasional events. At $5 an hour per language, a two-hour event in two languages costs $20 on pay as you go.

Who should choose which

Choose Glossa if you want phone support at any hour or RTMP streams, or you translate only now and then.

Choose Voclyn if you translate every week into several languages and want one flat price, your pastor preaches in Cantonese or switches languages, or you want Bible readings from a published Bible in Spanish, Korean or Chinese. Try it with your voice.
