How the prices work
Wordly sells hours. Its pricing page starts at about $1,500 for a 10-hour package, used within 12 months: about $150 for each hour of use. Larger packages save 10% to 30% or more, it lists a 10% non-profit discount from 25 hours up, and sessions are billed by the minute. Its church page sizes packages at 5, 10 or 25 hours a month and shows no prices, so a church asks for a quote.
Voclyn charges a flat monthly price: Free, then $69, $99 or $249 a month (C$99, C$139, C$349). Paid plans have unlimited translation hours under fair use and include the AI voice in each of your languages it speaks, with no hours to count. Listeners never count.
Wordly’s hours include voice and captions in every language at one price; Voclyn’s paid plans include both at one flat monthly price, under fair use. Which costs less depends on how many hours you translate. See Voclyn’s plans.
What Voclyn does differently
- Made for a service. The desk goes live with a hold and rests with one tap while the church sings (lyrics aren’t translated), and a private moment hides captions on every phone, with nothing saved.
- Switch languages mid-sentence. Voclyn detects the language being spoken by itself, so a pastor can tell a story in Korean and make the point in English without anyone touching a setting. Wordly also lists automatic language switching. How switching works.
- Bible readings from the Bible. When the pastor names a passage and reads it, English, Spanish, Korean, Cantonese and Mandarin readers see it from the published Bible their church chose (the BSB or KJV, the Reina-Valera 1909, 개역한글, and 和合本 in its 神 or 上帝 edition), marked “Published text · not AI”, on phones and the big screen, and the voice reads the verse. Other languages get the reading translated and labelled AI. About Scripture lock.
- Your church’s words. Wordly has glossaries too. Voclyn’s glossary teaches both the speech engine and the translator your pastors’ names and your church’s words. Your church chooses 神 or 上帝, 하나님 or 하느님, culto or Misa, starting from a pack for its tradition, and a fix in Monday’s transcript is used from the next service. About the glossary.
- Read it or hear it. Captions grow up to 42 px for older eyes. On paid plans an AI voice (TTS) reads the translation aloud, keeps playing with the phone locked and is labelled AI.
- Flat monthly plans, unlimited listeners. Free, then $69, $99 or $249 a month (C$99, C$139, C$349). Paid plans have unlimited translation hours (fair use) and include the AI voice in each of your languages it speaks, with no hours to count; no service is cut halfway.
Where Wordly does better
- Security and compliance. Wordly lists SOC 2 Type II and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, HIPAA support with a business associate agreement, and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Voclyn doesn’t hold these certifications; what we can say is that listeners have no accounts, cookies or trackers, and service audio is never stored.
- More than Sunday. Wordly works in Zoom, Teams, Google Meet and Webex, translates transcripts, writes AI summaries, makes MP3 voice tracks for dubbing videos, and can send captions to broadcast systems.
- People to help. A Customer Success onboarding call, glossary set-up and a test session before your first event, and live support at an event, in person or remote, as an option.
- A longer track record. Wordly was founded in 2017 and counts more than 5,000 customer organizations (its own figures).
Who should choose which
Choose Wordly if your church also translates conferences, trainings and Zoom or Teams meetings, needs SOC 2 or HIPAA paperwork, or wants staff to onboard you and support live events.
Choose Voclyn if you translate services every week, your pastor switches languages, you want Bible readings from a published Bible in Spanish, Korean or Chinese, and you want one flat monthly price with no cap on listeners. Try it with your voice.
