How the prices work
Hope Translator sells hours by the month and caps the phones on its smaller plans. Free has 30 minutes a month for up to 5 phones. Stream Starter, $19.99 a month, has 5 hours, two languages at once and up to 10 phones. Stream Growth has 10, 20 or 40 hours for $39.99, $69.99 or $129.99, five languages at once and up to 50 phones. From Stream Scale, $99.99 a month for 5 hours, anyone can read, and extra time costs $0.05 a minute per language ($3 an hour) in credits that never expire. Paying yearly saves 30%.
Starter’s 5 hours cover four services of 75 minutes; a church whose services run 90 minutes needs Growth’s 10 hours.
Voclyn has no cap on listeners on any plan: Free, then $69, $99 or $249 a month (C$99, C$139, C$349). Free translates 6 hours a month into one language plus your main language, with no time limit. Paid plans have unlimited translation hours under fair use, captions in every language your people choose and the AI voice in each of your languages it speaks, with no hours to count. See the plans.
What Voclyn does differently
- No cap on listeners. Every Voclyn plan, Free included, works for any number of phones, so a newcomer never finds the room full.
- Every language at one price. Paid plans caption every language your people choose, with unlimited translation hours (fair use); Hope’s plans set how many languages run at once.
- Switch languages mid-sentence. Voclyn detects the language being spoken by itself, so a pastor can tell a story in Korean and make the point in English without anyone touching a setting. Hope Translator also detects a change of language mid-sentence, with a multilingual input. How switching works.
- Bible readings from the Bible. When the pastor names a passage and reads it, English, Spanish, Korean, Cantonese and Mandarin readers see it from the published Bible their church chose (the BSB or KJV, the Reina-Valera 1909, 개역한글, and 和合本 in its 神 or 上帝 edition), marked “Published text · not AI”, on phones and the big screen, and the voice reads the verse. Other languages get the reading translated and labelled AI. About Scripture lock.
- Your church’s words. Voclyn’s glossary teaches both the speech engine and the translator your pastors’ names and your church’s words. Your church chooses 神 or 上帝, 하나님 or 하느님, culto or Misa, starting from a pack for its tradition, and a fix in Monday’s transcript is used from the next service. About the glossary.
- Made for a service. The desk goes live with a hold and rests with one tap while the church sings (lyrics aren’t translated), and a private moment hides captions on every phone, with nothing saved.
Where Hope Translator does better
- Price for a small group. If up to 10 people follow in one or two languages for 5 hours a month, Stream Starter at $19.99 costs less than Voclyn’s Chapel at $69, and Growth’s 10 hours for up to 50 phones, at $39.99, does too. Voclyn’s Free plan costs nothing for 6 hours a month in one language plus your main language.
- A guide for each occasion. Step-by-step pages for setting up translation at Vacation Bible School, a wedding, a funeral, a baptism and more, 17 of them, in 11 languages. For a conference, a retreat, a wedding or a funeral, Voclyn sets up everything in the Church plan for the day: write to us.
- Credits that never expire. On Stream Scale and above, extra time is $0.05 a minute per language, and unused credits stay.
- Its site in 11 languages, among them Korean, Vietnamese, and Chinese in Simplified and Traditional characters.
- More languages to listen to. 80+ with audio, by its count.
